Is Helm Yeah an official Coast Guard app?
No. Helm Yeah is an independent study tool made by Gybe Digital. It isn't affiliated with or endorsed by the U.S. Coast Guard or the National Maritime Center. Always check current exam details with official sources.
Which exam does it prepare me for?
The Rules of the Road (Navigation Rules) module of USCG deck license exams — recreational and commercial. Practice covers both International and Inland rules, and you can focus on the set your exam uses.
Do I need an internet connection or an account?
No. Helm Yeah works fully offline and doesn't ask you to sign up. Your progress stays on your device.
How do I change the text size?
Open Settings → Text size. You can match your device's setting or pick a size, and the whole app follows it.
I think an answer is wrong. How do I tell you?
Tap “Report this question” under the explanation. It goes straight onto our review list. You can also email us with the question text.
How do I reset my progress?
Open Settings and choose Reset progress. This clears your practice history and mastery on this device and can't be undone.
Is there a home-screen widget?
Yes — an exam countdown with your standing, and a Question of the day. Add them from your home screen's widget gallery.
How do I get a refund?
Purchases are handled by Apple. You can request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.
