Privacy Policy

Helm Yeah is built by Gybe Digital as a study aid for the USCG Rules of the Road. We designed it to work without collecting your personal information. This policy explains what the app stores and how it is handled.

1. Information we collect

Helm Yeah does not ask you to create an account and does not collect names, email addresses, or contact details.

The app stores the study data you generate — your exam or renewal dates, practice history, topic mastery, and app settings such as text size and reminders. This information is used only to run the app on your device.

2. Where your data is stored

Your study data is stored locally on your device. It is not uploaded to Gybe Digital servers, and we do not have access to it.

Because the data lives on your device, deleting the app or using the in-app "Reset progress" and "Restart onboarding" options removes it.

3. Notifications

If you enable Reminders, the app schedules local notifications on your device (for example, exam countdowns and topic-fade nudges). You can grant or revoke notification permission at any time in your device settings.

These reminders are generated on your device. No notification content is sent to us.

4. No tracking or advertising

Helm Yeah does not include third-party advertising, analytics trackers, or behavioral profiling.

5. Children’s privacy

Helm Yeah is intended for adults preparing for maritime licensing. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

6. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above and, where appropriate, noted in the app.
